[resolved] free internet radio, facebook, wildhitz, visit-tracker with slimstat .. (9 posts)

Got a phonecall from my client this morning that there was free internet radio on the intranet website and automatically opening popups. When I de-actived slimstat it was gone.

Slimstat automatically allowed a link to visit-tracker.com, wildhitz and universal-traffic.com and some other links which ended up with a lot of garbage on the site.

After some tweaking I saw that when i disabled the UAN function under Settings the link with the strange websites was gone.

    Any ideas?

Disabling UAN under Settings is not enough because after a couple of refreshes visit-tracker is coming back up again so i had to disable the plugin ..

Deleted on 8 sites, problem all gone. I didn't see anything in the code, so I don't know if it's a third party taking advantage of a function to inject these functions and links.

Has this happened with recent update or by the plugin's usage of 3rd party libraries "suddenly" going bad?
I hope the author is responding VERY soon. Our hoster has already wiped the plugin from all our sites.....

Yes, I think some third party found a vulnerability and exploited it. I don't think the plugin gone rouge all of a sudden.

Version 3.6.4 removed this glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience.

SlimStat is a very powerful tool, don't let this minor incident ruin your trust in us! We've spent hundreds of hours perfecting our software, and unfortunately at the end of the day bread needs to be brought on the table, no matter what. We're looking into converting it into a paid plugin on CodeCanyon or other stores, in order to monetize our efforts.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.
