Free form search fields

For most custom fields the search form shows by default the 16 most frequently occurring values of the custom field in order by decreasing frequency. If there are more than 16 values a free form text box is made available. The limit 16 is settable by the administrator. For custom field types ‘textarea’ and ‘wysiwyg’ a free form text box only is displayed. The matching of free form text box uses the SQL LIKE operation which means it matches if the entered value occurs anywhere in the custom field. For numeric and date fields a range search (i.e., >= and <= ) is made available.
