Support » Plugin: Strx Magic Floating Sidebar Maker » {Fraud} Why are you showing your own ads on my website ?

  • I wrote a detailed review on this plugin. here
I want the developer to answer me
I am really thankful to you that you give away this plugin for free, but in return what you are taking is too much, i was using this on my blog Design Rapid
By looking at source code i found
    $rv.='<tr><td><div><script type=”text/javascript”><!– google_ad_client = “pub-8907793348376201”; /* 468×60, per plugin e widget wp */ google_ad_slot = “8331203622”; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60; //–> </script> <script type=”text/javascript” src=””> </script></div></td></tr>’;

You are showing your own ads, further 7-8 affiliate link, your twitter handler, google+ handler, donate us button!!!! thats what i found till now
It come to my notice after i found i am getting unusually low CTR after istalling this plugin, by installing this plugin you may ask us to donate but you can sell your plugin for some money, but you can’t do things like this, this is really unethical

If you or anyone has an issue or problem like that with plugin hosted on the WordPress plugin repository here then please send the details and specifics to plugins [at]

Thanks @jan i send them a message, now waiting for their reply.

Any reply? Sadly, it seems that so many plugins are in direct violation with the repository rules or license.

There seems to be something wrong with your site.
    When I follow your link:
It looks like a mobile site. When I click on next page:
It shows like a normal website and looks totally different to page one.

Also, there seem to be a lot of letters missing. For example, instead of saying “We” it says “e”.

That ad is only shown in the Settings page in WordPress, not in your actual website. I think several plugins do that. You can easily remove it though by deleting the code in the php file.

With this plugin, my main concern would be that the author has not replied to any tickets recently. It does seem that the adverts are all on the backend within a banner which is rotated.

When I test this plugin, it works without showing any adverts. I think that the person who opened this ticket had seen their CTR drop and then investigated the plugin as the possible cause, where they found adverts and mistakenly thought that they were being displayed on the front end.

The real reason why the CTR dropped could be anything from the issues I mentioned above or due to a drop in traffic or drop in search engine ranking.

I think it is safe to consider this issue closed.
