• hello. one of my client’s websites has a forum on it (bbPress forums, which are awesome, btw!) but has an awful lot of spammy “people” attempting to create user accounts. i’ve included Captchas, which seemed to have helped but were back in full swing. we also have it set up so that when someone requests to join the forums (it’s mainly for a network of churches, so many people aren’t involved, but it’s ‘selective’) it sends him an email so he can request or deny them. he is saying seems like no matter what we do he continues to get spam account requests. he even requested that i take the Registration aspect out completely, that people have to send him an email with their credentials, hoping the bots wouldn’t be ‘smart’ enough to do that, but to no avail.

i am well aware that there will always be spammers trying to infiltrate forums. i guess my purpose of posting this is i’m out of ideas on what to tell him. is there a magical plugin that i can install or just suck it up?
