I’m fairly new to the forums, and I found myself looking for a FAQ when I was on the forums “home” page (wordpress.org/support/). But I didn’t find such a link.

So I suggest putting a link on that “home” page to a page that introduces forum usage, conventions, rules, and whatnot. For example, a link to the “Using the Support Forums” page (codex.wordpress.org/Using_the_Support_Forums) might be a good choice.

I’m not sure that we can do much more than that. It was asked that we remove them from the “No Replies” view, though if this means that people aren’t seeing them at all I’m tempted to add one back in there.

Thanks, mrmist. The fact that a link is readily available is what’s most important. Being an infrequent user of forums, I didn’t think to check out the sticky posts.

After thinking about the question some more, it still seems to me that the forums “home” page is the most obvious place for someone to seek out a link to help, tips, a FAQ, rules, and forum etiquette. So why not just put the link there?

    Just my two cents!

it’s possible, but that’s part of the site style, so we general mods have no real control of it.

    Fair enough. Thanks.
