Is there any way for visitors to webpages with calculated fields to access (or copy) the formulas that we create? I checked the source code and didn’t see any evidence of formulas, but I just want to make sure that they are hidden from code swipers and there is no way to simply access our unique work. It would be a shame if someone where to just hijack the formulas that we spend so much time to create.

    Hi,

The calculated fields are recalculated dynamically when the user modify the values of fields that are part of equation. Running the code in the client side is the only way to do that without inacceptable delays. So, the equation and the form structure are send to the client side, the “browser”. The form structure and equations are not so evident in the public page, because the plugin use the form structure in encoded way.

    Best regards.

It took me a complete day to setup a “special” formula for an instant quotation form.

    But the fact is
    it’s easy to deduct formula
    from the source code
by an average developer / mathematician
as all fields and their values are visible
and all calculation are simple algebre (multiply this by that and that and this).

    It hurts

So far, i’m using the free version.

No way to hide this source code with the pro version ?

    Thanks for your feedback

    Humm…
I’m just discovering the javascript function for equations.
I’ll try to manage this way to hide some part of the code…

    Hi,

I’m sorry, the idea with this plugin is make easy the process to create a form with calculated fields, but not hide, or obfuscate the code. The majority of customers use the plugin to allow calculate the price of a service, or product for selling, so the important is the product to sell.

    Best regards.
