Firstly, this is an awesome plugin and I’ve recommended it to many people, including on my upcoming podcast.

But, the plugin has stopped working (and weirdly at odd times it might but most times it doesn’t). What I do mean?

    – without changing anything on the forms, the SUBMIT no longer does anything.
    – only changes have been to apply normal updates to the plugin.
    – tried disabling other plugins to ensure there is no conflict.

Could a recent update have broken something in the code? I hate to use something else, as this was my top forms plugin. But need to find a speedy resolution.

    Thanks
    Steve

  • David, is there anything I can do to help debug this issue.
It causing me serious issues and while I know I can always go for another plugin, I really like what you’ve built and im trying to stick with Caldera Forms. Please help me out achieve that.

lmartins, do you have any good recommendations?? I can’t hang around waiting for much longer.

    Thanks

If you mean recommendations for alternatives there are few options, I don’t think it would appropriate from me to point them out here. That being said, there’s a reason why im trying to stick with Caldera Forms, despite these problems, and that’s because I do think Caldera provides a very good balance between functionality and usability, something I haven’t seen on other plugins.

I hope these issues can be sorted soon, but also that the devs would be a bit more responsive.

I would rather stick with Caldera too. When it worked I couldn’t believe how good this free plugin was but then suddenly it stopped. 4 days later and nothing from the dev team so I’m sure you can understand why I am looking for a reliable plugin – even if I have to pay for it…

This is a very difficult issue to fix. In order to fix something I need to, at very least, replicate the problem reliably. I have not been able to do this as of yet.

I did add in the last version a “Debug” mailer option. If you edit the form, go to the Mailer tab and scroll down to the bottom and check the “Debug Mailer” box. now go and test the form. The form entry will now have a “Debug” tab. click this to view the email sending log. there will be a lot of stuff in there but you should be able to find if there was a send error.

I am still trying various options to perfect the sending on my own side in many different installations and will soon track down the cause and solve it.

For everyone having issues, i’ll suggest checking your caching. Try disable it and see if there’s any difference.
That seems to be the issue in my situation.

Hi David, the form stopped creating entries when it stopped working. Let me know if you would like to access the admin and have a look around.

lmartins, I don’t have any caching plugins installed.

that would be very helpful. can you email me access details to david@caldera.co.za ?

    Done

David,I have just followed the advice of another post by kfranklin and unchecked the “required” box of a HTML element (don’t know why it was checked anyway) and the form appears to be working again….

I will run a few test submissions and let you know.

wow- this is a real facepalm moment. if thats the true cause then -100 point to me.

I’ll do my own tests and update ans needed.

that is definitely a problem. I can confirm if you have an HTML field and set it to required, there is no way to submit the form.

I have fixed this in the current version on GitHub and will soon push an update to here.

Please check this on your own and see if that is the cause for your problems.

Facepalm maybe but this plugin is ace David!

    Nice job, David!

I’ll take a face-palm over blaming something or someone else any day! That’s exactly why I continue to follow the development of this plugin. I may not get the exact answer at the exact time I would like it, but I can rest assured that the issues ARE being addressed.

    Thanks again, David.
