• Okay, I was working to integrate CF7 with ActOn. According to their FAQ on this, they only support through CF7 5.0.5. So, I went into the file manager, renamed the CF7 folder in my sites plugins folder, then installed the older version. After I got things working I noticed two things the following day:

    – The older version had been updated to the newer (5.1.4) but the integration was still working.
    – Both versions appeared installed and activated when viewing Plugins in the WP Dashboard.

So, I deactivated the one associated with the original installation, and, after testing that the integration still worked, uninstalled the older one which I had renamed above. Things still seemed to be working, but apparently they were cached on my machine as…

Today though when I went to access the forms, none appeared in the WP Dashboard!

I’ve never seen user created items disappear if I uninstall and reinstall other plugins? Is that expected behavior for CF7?

So, I restored from a backup and even had local copies of my work that made it easy to reapply the CF7 form changes I’d made. Everything is working again, but…

I again have two CF7 plugins that show in my dashboard as well as two folders in my WP-Content/Plugins folder. Only one is active and it is NOT the one that appears to be associated with the forms (it is the downgraded then upgraded one, not the originally installed one).

I’d like to get rid of one of them but now I’m leery. How can I identify the one to remove and remove it without removing (or disassociating) my 30 some odd forms?

Note, this is not a WPML site.

    Any help or pointers appreciated.
