• Hi,

I see many people are experiencing the same issue and I am also getting the same errors on multiple websites where the plugin is updated to 5.4 (no problems with 5.3.2).

    /wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/12277/refill?_locale=user
    [HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden 956ms]

    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=rest-nonce
    [HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request 483ms]

When I disable JS these error is gone but hopefully this issue will be fixed.

    Best regards.

Where can we see the website in question?

    Hi,

    Please see this website: https://www.corneacentrum.nl/contact/

I have fully updated this website yesterday and now when you just click the submit button the form shows the same errors in the console.

When I updated the website yesterday the form was working but if you wait a while the errors return.

I think it’s related to caching.

    Best regards.

Oh, and it’s a custom build theme based on the ‘Sage’ theme (version 8.x). https://roots.io/sage/

Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, and clearing all cache data.

Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

This will surely solve the issue. What I just did is exclude the contact page from the caching plugin. In this case this is Hummingbird but this also resolves the issue when I am using Fastest cache. I will wait and see if the form will still be working tomorrow, because when I clear the cache the form is working again but after a while the errors come back.

Next to this, when I disable CF7 JS the form is also working.

Sorry, disregard this: ‘Next to this, when I disable CF7 JS the form is also working’.

I don’t think this solves the problem.

Looks like I am stalking right now 🙂 but I just want to share all the information I have. I have another website that also shows the same errors but I can only remove the errors by disabling CF7 JS. Even though I have also excluded the pages that has a form within the caching plugin.
