# Forms are mangled!

 * The new RTE is horrible, it mangles forms entirely. Not sure if it’s the RTE 
   or the new repair of invalidly next HTML.
 * Anyways, I am creating a page, I wrote the HTML by hand and it is this:
    If you
   have any comments, suggestions or questions… or _just_ want to send me an email!
   Please use the form below. <form method=”post” action=”[http://www.loganwortman.com/mail.php”&gt](http://www.loganwortman.com/mail.php”&gt);**
   Name:** <input type=”text” name=”name” size=”40″ /><strong />
 * **Email:** <input type=”text” name=”email” size=”40″ />
 * **Country:** <input type=”text” name=”country” size=”40″ />
 * **Subject:** <input type=”text” name=”subject” size=”40″ />
 * **Message:**

 * BUT, once I save the page after inputting my code it breaks a little. Save it
   again, and it turns into this:

 * It’s horrible! WP mangles forms, this never occured in 1.5. Is it possible to
   downgrade? Can I just reupload the files of the older version? 2.0 is terrible.

 * Go to user preferences and turn the rich text editor (RTE) off whenever you edit
   posts with custom CSS, forms and the like.
 * Otherwise, you might lose information that was originally in your post. It’s 
   a known issue and the best thing is to avoid the RTE *before* saving anything
   which you know comprises some complex markup.
