 * I have just taken over the website and don’t have contact with the designer. 
   There is an newsfeed email subscribe button on the main page of the website.

 * In wordpress, where can I find this to edit it?

 *  Is it in the sidebar? If so, look in the widgets area. If it’s in the content
   of the page, look at that page for a shortcode (Usually has a short string of
   characters bracketed by []’s). In that case, it would probably be a plugin and
   should be on the left menu on the Dashboard.
