Formatting won't show up on screen

    I have been using WordPress for some while now and I seem to be having the same problem:

    Whenever I format text for my blog, for example make it bold or underline, this does not show up on my computer screen when I view the post.

    It is probably something really silly, but does anyone know why this might be?
