Support » Plugin: Relevanssi - A Better Search » Formatting results to show where matches are found

  • I installed Relevanssi to test if it can search and show comments content in the search results, which works much to my relief.

The only problem is that the search results show the comment content without any indication that the match was actually ijn the content. From the snippet of text you see a user would assume that the matching content was in the post itself which would then cause some confusion when they click the result, open the post and don’t find the content in the preview.

So has anyone managed to determine some code that works out where exactly the plugin found the match ? And ideally also from this logic then add a title/caption of some kind before the result is shown to indicate the location of the match.

I suppose it may be possible, but it’s quite difficult, because Relevanssi doesn’t really care where the match was found.
