[resolved] Formatting Problems after Establishing Database Connection Error (4 posts)

After ecountering an "establishing database connection" error, the format for my website http://www.oxfordinfrance.com got very messed up. (I am using twenty eleven theme). For example:

Menu font size and font style

    Tagline font size

    spacing between lines

when I choose 3 columns for gallery it turns into 2 with the right column oddly spaced and when I choose 2 columns it turns into 1.

The strange thing is that the line spacing and the pictures included in posts are just how I'd like them in the visual editor. I don't know HTML and I'm not very good with computers, so I would really like to start from scratch and return to the default twenty eleven settings. Would someone be able to please walk me through, step by step, how to go about restoring default settings? I would be happy to provide you with more information if need be.

Error connecting to your database is common, but it isn't necessarily a problem with wordpress itself.

    - double check your wp-config.php file settings for the database name, database username and database password. This is where most errors occur.
-Then check that you don't need to change the database host from "localhost" to something else. You can get that info from your hosting provider.
-Check you have actually created a database with the same database name as is in your wp-config.php file.
-Last, but not least, if all that information is correct your database probably has a problem with it, and you may need to contact your hosting provider if the database server is online / if they have any other problem at their end, or they made any changes to your account, or if there are any limitations/restrictions, if the hosting package is set to Windows and not Linux, etc.
