Support » Fixing WordPress » Form Submission fails – Page just refreshes

  • Hi.

This is my first post to the forums. I hope you guys can help. Im getting pretty confident with WordPress but I’m still a bit of a novice with PHP and Apache.

I have a wordpress installation on an Amazon EC2 Small instance. the issue i have is, if anyone tries to post a form to the server – any form, even the login form – if the page has been loaded in the browser for more than a few (~30ish) seconds, the form submission fails and the page simply reloads. no error message, just the page reloading.

I have a local MAMP instance on my Mac and that has no such problem, but after comparing the apache, PHP and WordPress config files, i can’t see anything obvious i could change to resolve this.

    Any advice would be great.

  • Curiously, while trying to create this post, this site did the same thing!

I think i may have figured it out…

Post to this site and having a similar problem made me think, so i tried accessing my site on out corporate network, leaving the browser alone for a couple of minutes and then logging in. the page refreshed and directed me to the wordpress login page.

I then switched over to our R&D open wifi network, reset my browser (cache, cookies, etc.) and tried again. I logged on no problem.

Looks like it might be our corporate proxy server.

    Has anybody experienced this before?
