 * Hi,
 * today I forgot the close-tag
    ` <.em>blabla<.em> (no slash) an even the next
   post in the List was formated in <.em> A bug or a feature? 😉

 * until you close it, any browser will continue it. Certainly not a bug for WP -
   or- for any browser. 🙂
 * Close the tag.

 * “Close the tag.”
    ^^
 * my idea was that WP perhaps should handle every post “for itself”, so that at
   the end of a post every tag will be “closed” (not in the code, but in the way
   WP interprets it).
 * Just an idea, no Problem for me, cause I CAN close it *smile*

 * If you are using the WYSIWYG editor then you aren’t creating the tags by hand,
   so you wouldn’t have un-closed tags.
 * If you are using the regular editor and did open a tag, there is a handy “Close
   Tags” button that you can hit to close any tags that aren’t closed yet.
 * If you are adding tags by hand without using either of these two mechanisms,
   then the onus is on you to ensure that you don’t violate the code.
 * You can write a plugin if you really want to parse the content of a post and
   close any un-closed tags for you before saving it in the database.
