forgot admin username and password

    for one of my wordpress sites i forgot my admin username and password for viewing the admin dashboard. i have access to my files from ftp though. and i have access to my database too. where and how can i retrieve this username and password?

    Hi @ketanco ,
    do you know the email address you used for that user? Then use the “lost password” link to have it send you a new password link.
    If you don’t know that, my next step would be to go to your database, to the table wp_users (or whatever your prefix is) and edit the admin user. There you should be able to see which email address is registered for that user.

    I would then change the email address to a current address, save and after that use the lost password link again and it will send you a reset password link.
