• Hi,

could you add fields for translating some words ? (follow, more). I did change them in sidebar and sidebar-2 but it’s not so easy when an update comes

Thanks a lot for your great work again 🙂

  • Hi huberte. If you’re going to change the theme files I’d recommend copying them from the parent theme to a child theme and edit them in the child theme. That way you won’t lose your changes when you update the parent theme.

    Hi,

I already do have a child theme and a custom style.css file.

I guess it was not recommanded to copy php files because of those updates. If those file are updated, you’re stuck with old ones.

To a certain extent, that’s true. The more you change things in a child theme the greater the risk that, at some point, it won’t be compatible with the parent theme when the parent theme is updated. I don’t think this happens very often because, in general, theme authors tend to make small, incremental changes and add functionality during updates. But it is a possibility. I don’t know of any way around that other than (1) hoping that the theme author (any theme author for that matter) doesn’t make any significant structural changes during an update, or (2) creating your own theme.
