Forced to hide Block Editor or Templates in Page Attributes shows doubles

    Hi!

    This completely mystifying.

    I’ve got several field groups and custom post types. I would like to use the block editor and hide it for others. On one particular field group when I leave block editor unchecked I get double listings in the Page Template Attributes dropdown. Not for everything, but most of them. If I hide the block editor on this field, I no longer see the doubles in the dropdown.

    I have no idea why this is happening. Nor how long it may have been happening.

    Any guidance would be wonderful!!!

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback! Hmm in fact, it’s strange. When you say that you disable the Block Editor, it’s in the “Hide on screen” setting from the Field Group UI right? I never received such report in the past.

    May I ask you the following elements:

    • A screenshot of your page attributes widget with duplicated elements, to see how it looks like
    • Your WordPress + ACF Pro + ACF Extended versions
    • Your theme name + version
    • A screenshot of your activated plugin list (with versions etc)
    • How are you registering your post type? Can you share the register_post_type() code you’re using?

    With the following elements I could try to reproduce the issue, but I feel like it’s a compatibility issue with an another plugin or a custom code somewhere in the theme.

    We’ve done a bit more digging and it appears to be a Block editor bug!! Still happened even after deactivating your plugin. In fact, ALL plugins!

    How has the Delicious Brains acquisition affected you?

    Okay, good to hear. It’s a good reflex to disable plugins to isolate the problem. Good luck finding the cause the of the issue.

    For now there’s not much changes since the recent Delicious Brains acquisition. I contacted them to keep in touch and setup a communication channel. They have been quite communicative, including with the developers from the community, on Github etc… Exciting times 🙂
