Force Social Sites To Use the Featured Image as Thumbnail

    Been having issues with social sharing sites (not FB) taking ads and stuff from the sidebar as thumbnails for posts shared from my blog (blog.420petition.com). Is there some way I could force any site looking at a post to grab the featured image as the thumbnail? Or perhaps add a line of code to the sidebar images that would hide them from being chosen as thumbnails?

    This is driving me a little crazy so any help is appreciated.
