Some hosting companies remove that option. Who is your hosting company?

Are you on their Managed WordPress Hosting service? If you are then they remove that option and there’s nothing you can do except complain to GoDaddy.

I am indeed. Just switched over to their managed wordpress a few weeks ago. By the sounds of things, I can’t make this work.

Probably the wrong place to ask this question, but does the mamaged wordpress block other wordpress SEO plugins? I might try another one, but don’t want to go through with it, if I just get the same problem. Whats your best advice here. I know you said complain to godaddy, but they will just give me the run around, waste my time and ultimately make me really annoyed.

Thanks for your speedy responses by the way! I love your plug in, it’s too bad godaddy screwed me on this.

    Cheers,
    Henry

GoDaddy block all kinds of features with various plugins at their discretion.

Hi Steve, I have been on the phone to godaddy for the past hour and they are trying their best to help me on this. They don’t know why that one buttom is not showing up for my website.

Whats makes the situation even more confusing is that I have two websites with godaddy under their managed wordpress. And for my second website, the button (force rewrite) is there for me to see and click. So they really don’t know why this is.

They asked me to ask you if you can lead them in the right direction in turns of why this is happening. What do they need to change on their end and where do they need to look? He said, it is weird that they would just block out one button from a plugin and it doesn’t make sense for them to do that.

He really wants to help and said if I can get any more info from you that may point him and his team where to look, I can call back and we can get it sorted.

    Thanks again for your time!

Hoping to get your great plug in up and running asap 🙂

can i add pictures in here to show you what i mean? also, do you think it might be a plug in i have installed causing the problem?

Do both sites have the same ProPhoto theme? Tell them this has to do with Output Buffering. The ProPhoto theme uses output buffering which overrides the ability for All in One SEO Pack to write the Title tag. We have the Force Rewrites setting so that All in One SEO Pack can use Output Buffering to write the Title tag which counteracts what the theme is doing. I’ve seen occasions where GoDaddy also use Output Buffering for some reason, I don’t know why.

    both have same prophoto theme.

Can you send us the administrator logjn for both sites. You can use the contact form here – http://semperplugins.com/contact/

I’ve seen this behavior on other sites hosted on that specific hosting service and we’d like to get to the bottom of why this is happening.

but that fact that the setting isn’t even visible is what is confusing for them. on my performance tab I have the first 2 options, but no third one. this is something they said they wouldn’t do. I’ll call them again, but before I do, is there any more info you can give them to help them figure out why the button is not available?

The confusing thing is that my second website has the same prophoto 5 theme and the setting force rewrite is there for me to see and use.

    Hi Henry,

The reason Force Rewrites wasn’t showing up was because you had deactivated Rewrite Titles in All in One SEO, General Settings, Title Settings. That meant that you’d disabled All in One SEO Pack from outputting any titles.

Much of the problems you’re seeing, other than that, are caused by GoDaddy’s caching. The Flush Cache option doesn’t seem to always flush the cache or it takes a while to flush the cache. This means that you see cached information in the source code.

Thanks Steve. I only recently disabled the rewrite titles in the Titles section to see if it would fix the problem. I now see the Force rewrite option under performance and everything seems to be working.

Thanks you so much for all of your help on this! I really appreciate it!
