 * IT’S BEEN YEARS!!! WHY IN THE HELL THERE’S NO **QUERY_POSTS EXCLUDE** BY **CATEGORY_NAME??**
   WHEN THERE IS INCLUDE WITH CATEGORY_NAME?

    PHEW! IT’S SUPPOSE TO BE SIMPLE
   LOGIC..

 * hi otto..
    i don’t mind hover my category to see the ID.. don’t need a plugin
   to do it..
 * main subject here about exclude category_name in query_post(),
    why it’s not 
   on the parameters.
 * Do you know why?

    the category ID parameter is **cat**. the category name parameter
   is **category_name**.
 * why not go strict and simple:
    **cat_ID cat_name

 * Use of category_name is actually not recommended because it requires extra database
   queries, to get the ID of the category.

    but I think the category_name will simplify modifying process, since it
   created by us.. but with category ID is choking it.
 * for example developing custom template in localhost for testing purpose. I hate
   to change the category ID when it’s online from scratch.

 * I do see your point, but that’s a more long term sort of thing. I would not expect
   it to be changed anytime soon. At least not until the query system gets an overhaul.
 * If you have a request for a specific enhancement to the code, then discussing
   it on the [wp-hackers mailing list](http://codex.wordpress.org/Mailing_Lists)
   would be a good place to start. Once people debate it a bit and offer input, 
   then it can be brought up on the bugtracker as an enhancement.
