# Forbidden access on /

 * Hi all,
 * on this host i only had permission to install wp in the /home/www directory, 
   and i did and it works fine… but only if have the /home/www path in my adress.
   If i access directly the [http://www.mysite.com](http://www.mysite.com) i get:
   
   403 Forbidden You don’t have permission to access / on this server. Apache/2.2.9(
   Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.5.1 PHP/5.4.4 mod_ssl/2.2.9 OpenSSL/0.9.8g Server at [http://www.mysite.com](http://www.mysite.com)
   Port 80
 * reading the forum didn’t help, i also put a .httaccess in the directoryes, and
   i changed in wp-General Settings the adress, with no luck.
    Any suggestions please???

 * When you say, “… it works fine… but only if have the /home/www path in my adress…”,
   what exact URL in your web browser are you using to successfully see your site?
   Beyond this, have you talked with your host support team? I ask because it sounds
   like maybe your web server (possibly Apache) needs a bit more configuring.
 * For that last bit, I Googled around a bit and found this possibly helpful document.
   I’d suggest paying particular attention to the Virtual Host parts:

 * I myself use Linode as my host on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) and run Ubuntu
   OS with Apache as my web server and found this basic article very helpful:

 * Hi Randy and ty for the quick reply.
 * I searched and i find some usefull reading, but i still don’t know to make it
   work. Configuring Apache can be tricky and there are many options on this server
   that are unknown to me.
    Server interface is Mesosadmin if that rings a bell 
   to anyone.
 * The path where i see my wpinstall is [http://www.mysite.com/home/www](http://www.mysite.com/home/www)
 * As mentioned, i set WP in General Settings to [http://www.mtsite.com](http://www.mtsite.com)
   but i can’t figure out server configuration
