I’ve been looking for a way to add footnotes to my posts, but not at the end of the post. I would like them to show up beside the relevant superscript or word. For example, if I’ve got a word in my content column with a superscript number, I would like for the relevant footnote to appear to its right, in another column.
I don’t mind if I have to add each one in manually.
I’ve tried making a css class called ‘footnote’ which displaces text 500px to the right. This mostly worked, but IE didn’t like it much and people reading the site through RSS would not see the document correctly.
I thought about using things like asides, but have no idea how I could get the footnote to appear next to the relevant sentence.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
