Hi. Is there a way I can have the URLs in the footnote link to the original source rather than bouncing back up to the ‘number’ reference in the post content?

Google loves it when external links are relevant. \(*<>*)/
    thank you. Standing by.
PS: I also contacted you via your website support.

I think I already responded to you via email, but I’ll post here for the public record in case anyone else has the same question.

There isn’t currently a way to make the footnote superscript or arrow link to an external URL without editing the plugin.

You can however include links in your footnote content. Just add a link to the copy in your footnote as you do with other links in the WordPress editor and that link will show in the tooltip and in the footnote output at the bottom of the page.

Wow! Fast reply. As per your support suggestion…
Here’s my reply to Jason’s support email… for public record.

    Woo! Hoo! Jason, thank you.
All I had to do was turn the URL in the shortcode to a link and a-batta-bing-a-batta-boom, the footnote link opens in a new tab with “do-follow”. Nice!

BUT WAIT! It get’s better! When I hover over the link id number in the pop-up box shows the URL is clickable!

So good to go. Thank you.
