I have Pinboard set up to use a static front page, with a sticky first post and 4 additional posts. Template for Home page is blog four column

I would like to put three widgets into the footer area.

They display fine on single posts, archives and search.

But they break the Home page.

I don’t want to leave the site live while this is a problem, but I have images of the broken home page here and the single post page here.

Any idea why this might be?

  • I’m having the same problem. It seems to be an issue with udgrading to 3.9. I tested it on an older installation that I had and it worked fine, then upgraded that installation to 3.9 and it broke. Deactivating plugins does not fix.

I don’t believe this has anything to do with footer widgets either, as I am not using any and still have the problem.

Thanks for the message of solidarity, at least. If it is something to do with 3.9, I wonder when we might expect a fix?

Please try posting in the theme’s dedicated sub-forum: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/pinboard/

And, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topics.

Done. Although I would have thought that tagging “Pinboard” might be enough. Apologies that it wasn’t.

As for posting your own topics, what’s the point if daveredford is simply saying he has the same problem and that it does not seem to be a problem with plug-ins?

To me, that is indicating that more than one person has the problem, not that someone is hijacking another thread.

Anyway, thanks for the redirect, and looking forward to see how that works out.

These forums have guidelines. Please read them. As you will see, one of these guidelines – entitled Where to Post – specifically states:

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

    Please abide by this.

    Thanks.

My apologies. I landed on this through a google search and didn’t realize it wasn’t the theme support page until after posting. I found the problem, I’ll post the fix there.
