My theme uses a weird base64 encode ‘code’ which I would like to replace with a simple footer that looks just the same, but has copyright notice in it. Any suggestions?
The content of the footer is listed below:
Encrypted themes and how to decoded them will help you find out what’s there and decide what you want to remove or keep.
I wouldn’t trust any theme that has encrypted code…if it’s in the footer, who knows where else it is in the theme? You can use a free theme with very similar features, without the encryption…
I used one of the decoders and yet I got nothing. As in the form refreshed on its own (I did it thrice) and I got nothing back.
Is there anyway to just recreate the footer in totally fresh code without me having to use the decoded code?
Look at your page source; this is what is rendered as the footer:
<div id="footer"> <div class="alignleft">Design: <a href="http://www.moonbingo.com/">Bingo</a> </div> <div class="alignright"> Coding: <a href="http://www.gossipbingo.co.uk/">Free Bingo</a> | <a href="http://www.genericure.com">Generic Drugs</a> | <a href="http://www.bingodazzle.co.uk">Free Bingo</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html>
You can try copying that code and deleting the links, paste it into footer.php and see if your page displays correctly.
But that said, I don’t trust encrypted themes, as does Figaro. Best to find a clean theme. Never know what’s hidden.
