    If you are going to still use a widget there, you can add this custom CSS:

    .site-footer .widget {
    padding-bottom: 0;
}

    Yes, I am keeping the widget. It is simpler for now till I learn how to create a child theme. I am still working on that. It has been a challenge. But I have a website I can live with.
