Support » Fixing WordPress » Footer moved up near the middle of the page

So I had the lovely task of moving across country last month, unfortunately, another of the admins (who is fearful of posting anything on the site) gave admin rights to someone who poked around in the code and left the footer in the middle of the page in my absence. He also did a non-backedup update and only managed to accomplish some prior addons to quit working, lol.

I’ve been looking at the code and the changes and from my observation it seems to be the actual post with the picasa image embedded in it that appears to be where the footer starts. I’m really not sure why this is where it starts and I may have gone a little blind trying to find where I suspect there’s a missing closing tag in the code somewhere.

Is there any help I could get on where to start?

  • I guess the css is tricky, since it’s floating. Try to enter a additional div before the footer and let that div do the float:clear.

Also try Validating your site -HTML mark-up errors can cause that kind of problem:

I have a bandaid on there until I figure out what’s causing the spacing not to be correct. I went ahead and set a minimum height for the main segment so my theme would accomodate all of the content. o.0

I mostly work with programming chips and c/c++ and not much with this site but oh well, I had a friend who’s been pushing css/web programming/html5 on me for a while now.
