    Somehow one of my sites got corrupted.

    The first symptom was that my visitors could not submit a photo that requires ajax. But then I noticed that the admin bar only showed a white space … and my footer section was totally missing!

    So in a gradual process, I :
    – deactivated all plugins (except the Ultimate Maintenance Mode)
    – upgraded wordpress
    – reverted to the twenty 10 theme
    – put a text widget in the footer widget area
    – created a barebones test page template like this:

    <?php
    /**
     * Template Name: Test Page
     *
    */

    get_header(); ?>

    		<div id="container">
    			<div id="content" role="main">

    <?php if ( have_posts() ) while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>

    				<div id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>

    					<h1 class="entry-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>

    					<div class="entry-content">
    						<?php the_content(); ?>
    					</div><!-- .entry-content -->
    				</div><!-- #post-## -->

    <?php endwhile; ?>

    			</div><!-- #content -->
    		</div><!-- #container -->

    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    But the footer is still missing … Help!

    The currently broken site is http://dessertstalker.com/test/ but you won’t be able to see anything but the maint page unless some nice guru volunteers to help and I can temporarily give them admin credentials by e-mail.

  • Wow… problem solved!

    We changed an amazon ad in the sidebar and neglected to paste in the closing <iframe> tag … Doh!

    Then of course all html below that would be corrupted, including the ajax in the footer (for the photo submit form and admin bar).

    So, call off the cavalry! *whew*
