Footer locked to page bottom – doesn’t work in IE6&7

  • I realize there are faqs and how-to’s on this subject, and I’ve checked them against my code and still can’t see what I’ve done wrong. I’ve built more than a few sites with footers locked to the page bottom, but this one is driving me nuts! I’ve been staring at it for over a day now…I just can’t see the solution.

In FF and IE8, it works perfectly. In IE6&7, the footer sits below the main content area (#innerWrapper), but it allows the sidebar widgets to extend underneath.

I would love it if someone could save me from spending ANOTHER day staring at this problem.

  • I can’t help thinking that if I could get the .postmetadata to clear the floating sidebar, all would be fixed. This happens in FF and IE8, but not in earlier versions of IE.
