    I would like to make some modifications to the footer. How can I change the info on the bottom of the screen and hide it on the home page only?

    I am using a child theme, should I start by making a copy of the php footer and putting it in the child theme folder in my ftp manager?

    What do you want to change? If the copyright info, yes, you’ll need a copy of the footer.php file in your child theme.

    And you can hide it on the home page, by adding this to your style.css file – assuming you’re keeping the blog page as your home page:

    .blog #colophon {
       display: none;
    }

    Oh sorry, I didn’t even see the footer on that page – but you can hide if by changing the above to:

    .home #colophon {
       display: none;
    }

    That code worked great. I also hid the header from the homepage using the same method. I also tried using it on the plus sign but it didn’t work. Should I start a new thread for that? I’m not sure if the plus sign is part of the footer or the sidebar.
