 * I posted this to reddit and the owner of FooGallery recommended I post here.
   The problem did not start directly after an update, though it did start sooner
   after I added a page, though I’ve ben adding page a lot lately. The FooGalleries
   on my website have all stopped showing their thumbnail preview images. They just
   show grey boxes instead. They still link to a lightbox that shows the photos
   as normal, but the masonry stack has stopped previewing thumbnails. I have a
   Foogallery on basically every page on my site. I use Safari and my MacOS is up
   to date.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ffoogallery-issue-2%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Hi [@gabrielcropley](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gabrielcropley/)
 * I cannot access your page to debug the issue – it’s probably because there is
   no HTTPS certificate, so my browser will not load it.
 * And that probably has something to do with it, but hard to be sure without having
   access. Open chrome developer tools on your site and check the console for any
   errors. There are probably errors for mixed-mode assets when it is trying to
   load the thumbnails. If you could paste those here, that would help.
 * But my suggestion is for you to install a HTTPS certificate on your site – most
   hosts provide this service for free

 * Hi Brad,
 * Thanks so much for you help on this. This is slightly beyond me but I’m trying
   to keep up. I logged onto bluehost and went to SSL manager and if I’m reading
   it properly I currently have installed the ‘Let’s Encrypt’ certificate. I do
   see the ‘Add SSL’ option so I’m guessing I have the option of installing a different
   one? Please advise..

 * no probs [@gabrielcropley](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gabrielcropley/),
 * You probably do not need to install a different SSL certificate. If Bluehost
   says the Let’s Encrypt certificate is installed, the next thing to check is whether
   the site is actually using HTTPS everywhere.
 * Please try these steps:
    1. In Bluehost, confirm the Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate is active for your domain.
    2. Enable any “Force HTTPS” or “HTTPS redirect” option Bluehost provides.
    3. In WordPress, go to Settings > General and make sure both:
 *  - WordPress Address (URL)
    - Site Address (URL) start with https:// and not http://
 * 1. Clear any Bluehost/site cache, caching plugin cache, and your browser cache.
    2. Reload the gallery page and check whether the thumbnails appear.
 * If the thumbnails still show as grey boxes, please open the page in Chrome, right-
   click the page, choose Inspect, then open the Console tab. If you see any red
   errors there, especially errors mentioning “mixed content”, “blocked”, or image
   URLs using [http://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/foogallery-issue-2/?output_format=md),
   please copy and paste those errors here.
 * Do not post any Bluehost login details or private credentials here.

 * Hi,
 * So, the problem seems to be fixed. I first off clear the cache ’cause that was
   the least complicated thing. It didn’t immediately fix it, but about 30mins later
   it was good. I also tried to just insert the ‘s’ into my site address in WordPress
   settings and got a serious error message that said something like ‘rejected!’,
   seriously with an exclamation mark, however NOW days later it seems like to ‘
   s’ stuck ’cause there it is.
 * It’s interesting learning all this, but really I just want a a simple portfolio
   website that works.. Anyway, the foogallery issue seems fixed, but I’d be grateful
   if you could let me if I fully and successfully have an installed https certificate.
 * Thanks again.

   your website hosting support and ask them for assistance.
