Hi @beggers,
I had a look at your site and the images are loading fine. Can you check again and let me know please.
thanks
Okay, here’s what’s happening. I got the file uploading working earlier and the image thumbnails are shown properly in “Manage Items”. But when I switch to Gallery Preview they are all broken links.
To fix this, I have to go into the Uploads directory on the server and change permissions on the files to get everything working properly. That’s when they finally appear on the home page.
If I can solve this one problem I’ll be very happy!
@beggers, can you contact your host and ask them to ensure files generated in the wp-content/uploads/cache folder of your site have the correct permissions to be viewed?
I lease a bare dedicated server and the hosting company does provide any support but I can check the permissions. Today I added one new image to this gallery and you can see the broken image link on the end:

This new file was written into Uploads with permissions 0666. And the Group and Owner are both “Apache”. I will have to set the permissions to 777 to get new images to appear. However, one clue might be that most of the other files in this web site have Group “psaserv” and owner “dixie—miranda”.
All the other features of Foo Gallery work fine. What do you think?
When you upload an image to your media library, do the thumb and mediam sized images get generated correctly with the correct permissions? To check, upload an image, then locate it in the uploads folder. The thumb should have the same filename but with “-150×150” on the end
Yes, all the additional sizes of the image are generated properly, but they are all 666 and owned by “Apache”.

ok so we have determined that the uploaded, resized images through the media library are getting the same permissions as the FooGallery thumbs. At least this is consistent. So my guess is that if you try to open this newly uploaded 150×150 thumb it would also give you a 404?
I can display all the different sizes of this new image in a browser such as

without getting a 404 error. Is that what you meant?
I just wanted to mention that I upgrade to your latest version 1.4.7 and still have the same problem.
Also, I just upgrade to the Pro version of FooGallery. No help, either.
