Fonts stored in different folder than preloaded

Hi Daan,

I have just noticed that the plugin stores the fonts in an /omgf/google-fonts-1-330/ folder, but the preload targets the /omgf/google-fonts-1/ folder so Google PSI is complaining I should preload my fonts.

I have already emptied the cache directory and reapplied the do not load/preload settings and again I see fonts loaded from the “330” folder. So either the “330” folder name is correct but then the preload link is wrong (although I cannot imagine why you would add that suffix, haven’t noticed it in other sites) or the preload link is correct (which I assume) meaning the css file is created in the wrong directory.

Hi,

Yes. This is a verified bug. Are you using preload combined with unload by any chance?

I have a fix for it in place and I’ll run my tests tomorrow. If all goes well, I’ll release it tomorrow, too.

Ok, I did a search for “330” before posting but nothing came up.

I just released the update, which should resolve this bug. Make sure you empty the cache directory before setting the preloads/unloads again.

Hey Daan,

Since latest update, it seems settings/choices are not being saved. I recorded it.

Luckily it does not break the site, but now all font variants are being loaded and none preloaded.

Hi Kristoff,

Are you using any kind of object caching, e.g. Redis? Does WP Rocket offer such a feature? If so, try flushing it.

Because I can’t reproduce this on my environments…

Flushing Redis Cache did fix it, I would not have thought about that.

One last strange behaviour in the site, I am only loading Lato Normal 400 and 700 and Merriweather Normal 300. Those 3 are preloaded nicely in html source.
However, inside the css I see more styles loaded

I have cleared Redis, WP Rocket and Cloudflare caches.

It looks like two italic fonts are slipping through the filter. Would it be possible for you to share the original request to Google Fonts’ API (starting with https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?a-bunch-of-parameters) here? Then I can test with that locally.
