Support » Plugin: Custom Icons for Elementor » fontname changes after css regenerate (all icons disappear)

  • Resolved polarismedia

Hi, after changing main-domain from staging to live-domain the icons disappeared.
problem was, that the Icons wanted to be loaded from stagingURL instead of liveURL.

Search-Replace in the database found no old entry for domain (search only for domainname without protocoll-information or similar) which works for all unenrypted saved data normally.

then i found your hint of “css regenerate” button, which dont really solve the problem, cause everytime when i click that button, the Name of the Font is changed – but all build-in widgets uses the same old font-name and so they just disappeared.

i solved it by doing a search-replace over the whole database with old-fontname to new-fontname. But thats really much individual work for just “regenerating” the css for an existing font which didnt really changed.

perhaps you could add some solution like an checkbox, where you preserve same name while regenerating css or replace in database all old names by new ones or so….

would be great to change that behavior else the plugin isnt really good to use within a dev/staging/live – environment where you change MainURL of the system regulary.

    Hey @polarismedia

Appreciate the heads up. This is solved by giving the font a unique name in Fontello as per the instructions. The generated name is just a fallback for people who forget.

I’ll consider some options for this fix.
