The icons still appear up top in the social media bar, but they have disappeared from the post meta area (in front of the post date, author, and comments).

I am using a child theme, but this did not affect the display of Font Awesome icons in the previous version of Quark. Do I have to configure something differently in 1.2.6 to get these working again?

    Thank you! Jodi

    Hi Jodi,

I’ve upgraded the Font Awesome icon font to the latest version (4.0.0). One of the things they did with this new version is to rename all the icons “to improve consistency and predictability“.

If you’re using a child theme, then the templates should’ve automatically updated the icons in that post meta area. However, if you’ve created or overriden some of the default templates (by having copies in your own child theme), then you may need to rename these icons in your own templates.

If you can post a link to your site, I’ll take a look and see what’s going on.

    Thanks.

Gotcha – I’ve overridden the quark_posted_on function because we needed to take out the author meta data. I’ve now updated that function with the new icon names and it’s working as expected once again.

Thanks for the quick reply and for making this great theme! Where is the best place to see the changes in each version of Quark?

Great to hear your sorted that out.

You can view the changelog in the readme.txt that comes with the theme, to see the changes for each version.
