Support » Plugin: Advanced Custom Fields: Font Awesome Field » Font Awesome and ACF Menu Item Field Location

So ACF Pro recently added support for a new field location on menus and menu items. I haven’t tested both, but I know for sure that the menu item location does not work with this field.

Adding support should be easy since Font Awesome is being loaded, just not applied here. Not sure how you architected your plugin, so maybe your custom stylesheet isn’t even loading on the menu pages.

Thanks for reporting. It looks like it is not as easy as the scripts not loading. Everything loads, but when DOM ready fires, the ACF fields do not exist yet as they are loaded in later via JS.

My script looks for fields on DOM ready and initializes select2.

I will fiddle around and see if there are any other JS events I can bind to in this area.

    daronspence,

Thanks again for reporting the issue. This has been fixed in version 2.0.7 which I just released.

Please let me know if you run into any further problems.

P.S. Bonus credit on reporting this bug, it appears it is also effecting ACF’s built in select field when using stylized UI (select2), which I reported to the author: https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/select2-not-initializing-when-adding-new-items-to-menu/. So two-for-one on bug reporting 🙂
