• Hi WordPress Forum –

I need some help. In trying to send my site http://hawthorneanimalhealthcare.com/wp over to hawthorneanimalhealthcare.com I mistakenly changed the URL settings in the General Settings tab. The site disappeared and after a moment of panic I searched and found this article: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL. I followed the steps for Edit wp-config.php and Edit functions.php and then was able to see the homepage but not login.

I then followed the instructions for Changing the URL directly in the database, but no dice.

I have poured a ton of work into the site and would really appreciate some assistance.

    Thanks!

    Molly

    – Try Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. See if that helps

    Hi Tara –

Thanks much for your reply. I cleared the browser cache and I am able to load the homepage. However, none of the subpages load nor does the admin login.

When trying to load anything other than the home I get the following message: “Safari can’t open the page “hawthorneanimalhealthcare.com/wp/our-tram” because Safari can’t find the server “hawthorneanimalhealthcare.com”.

This makes me think another setting needs to be adjusted, but I’m just not sure what…

Okay, so I reread the instructions and other similar threads and became concerned that I had tried too many options. So I’ve removed the additions to the wp-config.php and functions.php.

I followed the instructions for http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database. However, I can still only see the homepage and can’t access the login page / admin panel.

    Please help if you can.

    Molly,

Set things back to the way they were so that you are able to access both the admin dashboard as well as all pages of the site.

Then we can go through this step by step to get you on your way 🙂
