Follow-up: Is there any way to repeat Child Sets Annually?

Overall we really like this plug-in, it works quite well. However, more than two years ago, easitill posted the question copied below. I have the same issue with the current version (2.1.3) of Opening Hours and havn’t found an easy fix or viable workaround yet. Did I miss something in the resolution of this issue? Is there now a way to repeat child sets annually without having to update everything every year? It would be nice to just be able to automatically use my system’s current year instead of having to go through the dropdown calendar thing for each parent and child set at the start of every new year. Thanks.

Hi,
Is there any possible way of setting Child sets to repeat annually?

I’m setting up various seasonal opening hours child sets and setting a start and end date. However, if I want these same hours and dates to repeat every year, I will need to change them every year. Is there any way once set up to just make them repeat annually and not having to enter a year in the date selection?

Hi, this is still not possible using the current UI but you could change it programatically. It will maybe be possible to specify more generic criteria for child sets in a later version, but this is not planned yet.

When you would like to change is programatically you can use the filter hook [op_set_providers](https://github.com/janizde/WP-Opening-Hours/blob/master/doc/set-providers.md#2-via-filter)

You can then implement a class extending PostSetProvider that overrides the childSetCriteriaMatches($dateStart, $dateEnd, $weekScheme) method so that it matches regardless of the year.

In your op_set_providers filter you would then have to instantiate this class and return an array containing that instance.

I hope that helps, but currently there’s no option to do it only via GUI

Thank you so much for your reply and at least pointing us toward a starting place. I’m not much of a coder, but I will see what I can do, at least with our implementation.
