    Hi,

I am using the Yoast Seo, I am currently doing the SEO for the ‘About Us’ or ‘About’page,
I read that the word ‘about’ is a stop word for search engines and I should avoid using it, is that true ?! I am using it since so many companies have an ‘About’ page …. Is it better to have my page be called ‘About Us’ ?

My main question is, the meta report says: The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.

My focus keyword is ‘insulated glass’ and it does appear in the first paragraph, why it cannot detect that ?! Thanks for your help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us. Please find our answers below:

1)I read that the word ‘about’ is a stop word for search engines and I should avoid using it, is that true ?
There is no problem in using the word “about” in your pages. As search engines get better at recognizing more natural language, the importance of stop words has decreased.

2)My main question is, the meta report says: The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.

There are some special cases where our plugin isn’t able to detect the focus keyword in the first paragraph. Usually, when the first paragraph is not the first element in your article (i.e. there is an image before the first paragraph). This can happen for example if you insert additional elements like images before the first paragraph. Sometimes plugins like Visual Composer can insert other elements before the paragraph when using the Visual Editor.

Please, refer to this KB article for more information: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/warning-focus-keyword-not-in-first-paragraph/.
