Fluent Community Is Not Ready For Production Sites
-
As of March 4th, 2025, my experience with Fluent Community has fallen short of expectations.
I invested in a lifetime license for 100 sites at nearly $1,000, but the software contains unresolved critical bugs that impact usability.
While support acknowledges these issues, there has been minimal communication since early this year.
For context, Fluent Community began as an internal communication tool before evolving into a product for sale after generating significant interest.
However, since selling lifetime licenses, the team’s engagement within their own community has noticeably decreased, with limited visible progress despite assurances of behind-the-scenes development.
Response times for their other plugins have also slowed considerably.
Their product roadmap appears to have shifted priorities multiple times. For example, FluentCRM was supposed to include a sales pipeline (announced in 2023), but development seems to have been redirected toward selling Fluent Boards. Fluent Boards is now going to be a requirement for this feature to work inside the CRM product.
As of March 2025 the pipeline feature they announced in 2023 does not exist in any form.
The current product architecture creates challenges for new users, as Fluent Community requires other Fluent products like FluentCRM, Paymatic, or Fluent Forms for user onboarding. This interdependency complicates adoption for those who haven’t already invested in their ecosystem.
In my years using their products, only Fluent Forms has consistently delivered value relative to its cost.
The other offerings still lack crucial functionality that would make them fully effective, and Community appears far from being a viable standalone product without their entire suite of plugins.
Despite these ongoing issues, they continue developing new products.
While they may be expanding their development team, the pace of improvements remains too slow for businesses that need reliable solutions.
I had hoped their ecosystem would provide a cost-effective alternative to SaaS solutions, but when factoring in the time spent seeking support and waiting for essential updates, the value proposition becomes increasingly questionable.
This feedback is offered as a cautionary perspective for others considering similar investments.
