Support » Networking WordPress » Flickr embedded images not centering

  • Apologies for coming back with this issue.
    I saw a relevant number of requests about it, each one with a different reply, each one for a different situation, none of them explaining things from the beginning, none of them working so far. I lost a whole afternoon about it…

    I am a pretty basic user on a SemPress theme. I am tired of loading into WordPress images I already have on another location, such as Flickr. So I have been trying to embed them. But even if I set them to be centered in the block editor, they remain aligned left when published.

    Is there a way to fix this issue?

  • If you want to center images, I suggest to try adding this CSS rule to the block embed wrapper:

    {
        text-align: center;
    }

    Thanks… but it does not work. There is something definitely wrong in the defining code of the Flickr image embedding:

    <figure class=”wp-block-embed aligncenter … etc.

    Anything I try with the additional CSS class(es) does not work.`

    AT LAST!
    Finally I got it! The trick lies in the FLICKR code, which is redundant.
    To perfectly align center an embedded images in WORDPRESS you NEED TO INSULATE ONLY THE HTTPS CODE RELATIVE TO THE REAL IMAGE DEPOSITED IN FLICKR.

    1) DO NOT COPY ANY BROSWER LINK of YOUR FLICKR IMAGE
    2) DO NOT COPY ANY SHARE LINK OF YOUR FLICKR IMAGE AS IS.
    3) IN THE BBCode share option, COPY ONLY THE HTTPS CODE of the REAL IMAGE upped, which is a long alphanumerical name, such as below…

    [url=https://flic.kr/p/22LW4xw][img]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/39233523104_e4181f5886_o.jpg[/img][/url][url=https://flic.kr/p/22LW4xw]_PXK2200b[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/liveactionhero/]Live Action Hero[/url], on Flickr

    No need fro further CSS mabo-jumbos.

    Hope it could be useful to others.

    Wow, that’s a nice trick.
