I must be doing something wrong.

I would like to have a post that opens with a thumbnail gallery of my flickr pictures from a Gallery.

I tried everything, but every time it shows a thumbnnail and when I click on it, it opens Flickr.

What am I missing here? I read someone installing additional plugins to fix this, but I can’t find anywhere which ones.

I will need a URL to help troubleshoot, please.

    Sure: https://www.gillesen.nl/?p=96
I can give you an admin login too if that is easier

Umm… you don’t seem to have a Photonic gallery there. I mean, you have the shortcode, but no pictures from the shortcode. What shortcode are you using?

    Try it now

    [gallery type="flickr" user_id='27650996@N05' view='photosets' photoset_id='72157624888119079' tag_mode='any' sort='date-posted-desc' layout='masonry' caption='title' thumb_size='s' main_size='z']

it shows the thumbnail, but opens flickr

It looks like you have a Bootstrap error coming up – something complaining that “Bootstrap tooltips require Popper.js”. Photonic doesn’t use Bootstrap, so this is likely coming from your theme (I see a line in your source code that says https://www.gillesen.nl/wp-content/themes/photolo/js/bootstrap.js?ver=20151215). This is preventing Photonic code from executing, resulting in unpredictable behaviour.

Ideally this is a theme problem that should be fixed by the theme author(s). Bootstrap is a third party library, some of whose modules such as Tooltips clash with WP’s native JQuery modules.

That being said, the previous version of Photonic, which uses WP’s JQuery tooltips used to clash with themes using Bootstrap for the very same reason as above. But I took care of it and the conflict has gone away – essentially I tweaked my code in a manner such that if you have Bootstrap, its tooltip will be used, otherwise WP’s inbuilt tooltip will be used. Now, it looks like your theme itself has got a problematic implementation of Bootstrap tooltips, which is why you are getting this error.

As a stopgap you may want to consider using a different style of “titles”, from Photonic → Settings → Flickr → Photos (Main Page). You might currently have the “Using the JQuery Tooltip plugin” option selected. My belief is that if you pick a different style, the theme’s faulty tooltip implementation will not get picked up.

I’ll try that. Thanks for the reply!

You are right. I changed the theme and it opens the photo’s.
