Sorry, I don’t understand your question. What “a rubric” are you referring to?
The slideshow in the theme displays up to four pages, as visible in the live demo of the theme.

Ваш слайдер работает когда сделан сайт из страниц. У меня сделаны рубрики (категории), и тогда он не выходит на главной.
That is correct.
The slider works with pages, as they have a title, content and featured images. Post categories don’t have those (at least not right out of the box).
