Revised review: flaws in this plugin; do not recommend
-
UGH. Downgraded again from 3 to 2 stars. I noticed when resizing my browser, the top bar overlaps and obscures elements below it (in this case the primary navigation menu). The layout is fine if I refresh the browser, but why should I have to do this each time I resize my browser window? And when dragging to full screen, it leaves a massive gap – with no color – between the top bar and the header. This is taking WAY to much time to customize & debug. I custom coded a top bar in half the time it’s taken me to try and fix this plugin. Will not use again & do not recommend.
NOTE: Downgraded from 4 to 3 stars. After using this plugin for a few weeks I noticed a weird “Organize your files” button & large folder icon OVERLAPPING the footer pagination in the media library. This is not just unsightly and disconcerting, it blocks access to using the pagination menu in the footer. I had to deactivate all plugins then reactivate them one at a time to determine that Notibar is injecting this code in my media library. The developers also develop the Filebird plugin so I assume this is a branch of that. Very uncool. I was able to hide it with some custom CSS. I flagged this in the support forum.
ORIGINAL RATING: I would love to give this 5 stars – it’s easy to use, powerful but not bloated, has ample controls for styles (colors, font size), location (page-specific), and it’s mobile-friendly. Why not 5 stars? If it provided cookie control, I’d give it 5 stars. The cookie is currently set to terminate after 24 hours. It would be great to have the ability to specify a value; example from 0 (disabled) to 90 days.
