    Hello,
I get a trouble with the Famingo daily cron.
I use Flamingo with Contact Form 7 to record the email of the contact.
I use 404Error plugin to redirect the default 404 error page to a custom one.
I use Polylang for the relationship on translation, so the default 404 error page is in French and the equivalence existe in English. That’s working perfectly.
Just type : https://prestamarine.com/MyFingerSlipped to see the result.
    The trouble I get :
Every day, when the cron of the Flamingo plugin work, he move the default error 404 page (the French version) on the trash !
I need dome days to put the relation with this plugin, the cron and the fact.
But I disabled the plugin Flamingo on the Staging site, and this effect din’t happen anymore ?
Any idea about the cron and how to stop this effect ?
    Thank you
    Didier
PS : maybe the easter eggs I put on the error page disturb the susceptibility and the cinematic taste of the software 😉

Flamingo doesn’t have a scheduled function that moves pages to Trash. Obviously it has nothing to do with this issue.

Did Flamingo get a daily cron ?
What really do this cron ?
When I cut this cron, the phenomenon does not appear, so …
    That’s the real question.
    Thank you

    Hello Takayuki,
I’m sorry to disturb you again but I still get the trouble and get more information.
I disable the Flamingo plugin on the public site and keep it enabled on the staging site (a clone of the public site) and the result is without appeal :
On the public site, the custom error page stay there
On the staging site, the custom error page is every day trashed after the daily cron of the Flamengo plugin.
Before I did the contrary and the custom error page was trashed on the public site…
If you wish, I can open an admin account for you in the staging site ?
Just contact me at takayuli@prestamarine.com. I will receive any email sent to this temporary email address.
I try to read the cron file in plugin but I’m not enough expert to understand how the cron work.
Thank you for your help about this mystery.

    Hello,
Thank you for your attention to this mystery.
Also I can’t found the relation with the Flamingo plugin cron and the error404 plugin, but yesterday, I activate again the Flamingo plugin on the public version of the site and this morning, the custom error 404 page was trashed !
If you desire I can give you an admin access at the staging version.
    Basic information :

    08:14 Cron Flamingo job planification
    08:18 Custom 404 page trashed

On the staging version, since the 02nd of July, the custom error page stop to be trashed but this version didn’t receive any form email so any spam to be resolved in the flamingo database…
    Thank you

    Update :

    - 06/07/2020
    08:14 -> Flamingo Cron Job
08:18 -> Custom Error Page Trashed
    - 07/07/2020
    08:14 -> Flamingo Cron Job
08:30 -> Custom Error Page Trashed
09:50 -> Custom Error Page Restaured
    - 08/07/2020
    08:14 -> Flamingo Cron Job
08:40 -> Custom Error Page Trashed
10:28 -> Custom Error Page Restaured
    - 09/07/2020
    08:14 -> Flamingo Cron Job
08:19 -> Custom Error Page Trashed
10:39 -> Custom Error Page Restaured

I think the difference with the planned time of the cron and the effect is the queue on the server as I’m on share server.
So not resolved for the moment….

News and update about the bug.
I discover an information with the staging site :
I keep the contact form on this site.
I indicate “nofollow” to the search engine
But of course some robot overtake this indication.
So, some days I receive spam.
The spam was trashed automatically on the way by System (indication of the log activity).
The morning after this action, just after or during the Flamingo Cron Jobs, the custom error page was also trashed by System…
When no spam arrive and was trashed, this effect no exist.
Thank you for your help if somebody get an idea…

    Hello,
    New
Yesterday I get the idea to put the Flamingo Daily Cron in PAUSE.
Today, the First Flamingo Daily Cron was in PAUSE
    BUT
A new cron “Flamingo Daily Cron” was created and … the Custom Error Page was Trashed.
So today, I decide to ERASE all “Flamingo Daily Cron”…
I don’t know why but I think a new cron will be created tomorrow morning and…
    Wait and see…
PS I use in free mode :
    – Cron Manager
    – Log Viewer and WP Activity Log
Thank you for your help in case you get an idea…

    Hello,
As I felt, the cron job reappeared this morning :

    8:14 Flamingo Cron Job
    8:16 Custom Error Page Trashed

For the moment I get no solution even
    – To put manually every day the Custom error page out from the trash
    – Or to deactivate the Flamingo plugin…
If somebody get a logical idea…???

    Hello,
    This post get an issue.
I quote the information of @petersplugins from the Error404 plugin :
OK, version 11.2.4 is out and should solve this weird problem.
@garfiedo thanks a lot for your support, that helped me get on the right track. The reason was as follows: Flamingo searches for comments to delete. If there are no comments to delete, the result set is empty. This empty result set was wrongly recognized as error 404 and the 404 error page was loaded into the result set – and so Flamingo deleted this page. That was not a specific problem with Flamingo but a general issue. So the bug fix potentially solves also problems with other plugins.
So all is resolved and we get the solution.
The plugin Flamingo is not in cause 😉
