i added 3 languages as custom links into the menu with their own the label text
(3 different links and 3 different flags of course)
Example of one:
Custom Link: http://domain.com/en/
Label text: <img alt="English" src="http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/qtranslate-x/flags/gb.png" />
even i have different links, they have and use only one and the same link.
sorry to ask here the support forum is down

I had to change the links to outside the main domain to make it work and from there i redirect back to the main domain.
I made 3 sub-domains and added a redirect html code back.
Regards
3 custom links right?
in the URL for English put
http://yoursite.com/en?setlang=no
Next (language) custom link put
http://yoursite.com/XX?setlang=no
XX is the two letter code of the other language

I am sorry for your trouble. We currently do not have resources to answer support questions for free and rely on the community to provide a possible solution, which seems to work well in many cases. Many thanks to our active community members who take a good time to answer people’s problems!
Most of the problems should be resolvable with https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/integration/ and https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/troubleshooting/.
We need to figure out a way to monetize the support and further development. We would highly appreciate if you take about 5 minutes of your time to respond to the survey linked here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/what-is-the-future-of-qtranslate-x/
Any ideas and additional input are also welcome, use the same thread linked above for everyone to see your thoughts.
Thanks a lot!
