 * The flags disappeared after updated to the latest version.Language names are 
   there but no flags. Is it known bug or there are something else to do to show
   the flags with the latest version?

    Yes I checked the language switcher settings. Yes I use the flags that plugin
   provided.

 * Let’s look for a conflict.
    Could you try to de-activate all your plugins except
   Polylang? If it still does not work, try switching to a different theme (Twenty
   Fifteen).
