    Hi!

In support forum, you don’t give me some infos about your theme !

Flag is style/look linked and uses must be connected to content strategy !!! Be aware that language is not equivalent to country !

The best way to insert flags is to modify style.css. (by hand and for each language)

For child of bundled themes like twenty fourteen, some examples are provided incorporating some automatic mechanisms adapted to the target theme.

    see github : https://github.com/dev-xiligroup

Recently, using WP core functionalities, some sophisticated methods are introduced in plugin if the theme support ‘custom_xili_flag’ see http://2014.extend.xiligroup.org/en/1578/xili-language-v-2-15-the-easy-way-to-manage-flags-for-language-selection/ but you must be able to add some few lines in php.

Hope that help you to progress !

Actually I got more confused, esp with this link which shows flags added to the theme but not how to add the flags:http://2014.extend.xiligroup.org/en/1578/xili-language-v-2-15-the-easy-way-to-manage-flags-for-language-selection/

Unfortunatelly I do not know and coding to edit php lines. Thus i will be glad if can tell me step by step what to do…. Should I upload a flag picture to the plugin file via FTP first? Then which lines and where should be written in style.css?

I think my theme supports flags cos i tried a different lang plugin with flags it was ok but i gave up it cos i couldnt use the flags on the menu. Still how can i know if my theme supports ‘custom_xili_flag’?

Lastly, as far as I know Turkish is only official language in Turkey so it is equivalent to the country. I just tell this so you may want to put the flag on the list of the languages then when we select, it will come with the flag….

I would be glad if you can provide more help…

the best way to progress is to find around you a people with knowledge in php or css… The plugin offers several ways to personalise huge quantity of theme (free or commercial) but cannot do automatically the adaptations… 🙁
